This project involved the design and construction of a new BMW/MINI car dealership in Cambourne on a greenfield site to replace the building that had previously been located in Great Shelford. The architect was selected from BMW’s approved list who proceeded to design bespoke BMW and MINI showrooms, together with the necessary workshops, washbays, cosmetic repair centre, office space and canteen facilities all to BMW’s exacting dealer standards. The building has since been acknowledged by BMW as one of their outstanding new sites in the whole of Europe. The project also achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating.
In our role as project manager, employer’s agent and cost consultant, HBW successfully steered the project through its various stages, including managing the procurement of all direct orders for the: corporate signage and fittings; workshop equipment; all loose furniture and equipment; audio visual installation; CCTV installation; and catering equipment, as well as working with Commissions East on the procurement of the public art.
The project was successfully completed within the client’s budget and required timescale.
